HQ12X01972: COMMISSIONER OF POLICE - v - FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. DAY 4022: WEDNESDAY JUNE 6TH 2012.  So what does exercising your right to peaceful "Freedom of Expression" really look like. In May 2006, (for example) I was arrested when The Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police - in fact - spent (not 7,000 or 27,000 but) what was revealed a year later to be, £111,000 of taxpayers money stealing most of the Parliament Square Peace Campaign. And despite the fact that on JUNE 4TH 2008, the Gold Commander for the operation, Commander Allison (now in charge of the Olympics policing) admitting in Parliament -on Hansard - what "both houses and black rod" who gave their "full support" also knew... .....that there was no police power of seizure under SOCPA 2005 ss 132-138, ...today I received this response to my claim. The Commissioner has hired himself a "partner" in a City of London "Law Firm" to "defend" him.. The "Law Firm" are "Winners of the National Law Firm of the Year Award 2012". Really ? I wonder how and who "judges" that ? Interestingly Jago and I didn't need to be "Law Firm of the Year ", or even lawyers, to know that SOCPA 2005 ss 132-138 had no police power of...seizure. Anyway... The state don't do talking - with - the people. Just - at - them. And of course the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police is the good guy. While I am the ..."criminal". A bad, bad person... To be treated accordingly... Of course. And have the Metropolitan Police treated me badly. Yes they have. They have treated me...very badly. This is part of what is an entirely unacceptable reality regarding what Jo Public is up against, in exercising a right to peaceful freedom of expression. And in this case. For starters... I do not suppose that the state want to - lose face - over: a) having to explain the use of £111,000 (along with all the media hype they engaged in) when clearly they all knew there ws no police power of seizure..of Convention protected property. b) Parliament knew what the police were doing was illegal (but hey ho the Commissioner wanted to make sure he became Lord Whateverhisface which he did in due course) That's quite a lot for Jo Public to find themselves up against !! Of course the underlying problem that really does need to be resolved is the improper use, by Parliament, of the criminal justice system. Because as I have taken to saying. There is a big difference between following orders to collect the cheque (or Lordship) and upholding ....the law. The criminal justice system is being misused as a means of trying to prevent people peacefully challenging the state. The starting point for freedom of expression - must - be that no-one should be getting arrested, dragged before courts in onerous proceedings, or lose their job ...for peacefully challenging the state. What must be recognized as a very serious misuse of the criminal justice system only distorts: a) the true level of public opposition to government policy. b) the fact that people would otherwise be able to safely bring about change through peaceful means. After all, the UK state have made the tent "offence" just on the pavement in Parliament Square, "punishable" under s 143 (8) of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011, with a 5,000 pound FINE (and then some) which is pretty ...."massive"
