THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM CALLED SYRIA.

DAY 4025: SATURDAY JUNE 9TH 2012.

HAGUE JUSTICE PORTAL.

There is not much evidence that the media, or governments generally, overly concern themselves, with understanding, let alone following, the dynamics that are necessary to create and maintain decent and civilised society.

And so no-one could actually believe Madam Clinton is interested in saving a single Syrian let alone Turkish civilian life.

“[B]oth the foreign minister [of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu] and I are committed to making sure both of our governments are as focused and coordinated as we can be going against those that threaten Turkey and Turkish lives.” [US Foreign Minister Hillary Clinton, joint press conference with Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Istanbul, 7 June 2012]

It is simpy not believable that the media forgot to remind Madam Clinton during her breathtaking bout of hypocrisy, of the fact that it did not bother the US - at all - when Israel murdered a number of Turkish civilians on the Mavi Marmara not so long ago.

"[G]iven the violation of Turkish borders and national security [by Syria], all scenarios and alternatives will be considered.” [Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, joint press conference with US Foreign Minister Hillary Clinton, Istanbul, 7 June 2012] [2]

And Dr Barmania should perhaps identify who she believes the "good" people are, who are standing by and doing nothing so, "evil" may triumph.

Because many people remember that the US & UK governments cared nothing about the deaths of 500,000 children during the sanctions that were imposed on Iraq, before the West then engaged in an illegal war of aggression, using depleted uranium.

While Mr Straw and Co thought nothing wrong in inviting Uzbeks to the UK to work with the UK police to complete their criminology degrees here, while they were boiling their own dissident's alive, back home in Uzbekistan.

And while Obama's drones can go anywhere and Nato bombs continue to kill Afghani civilians, and Israel occupies Palestine...it is not clear who exactly Dr Marmania considers to be the good guys.

I dare to suggest that this is because the very obvious elephant in the room that both the media and the government really don't care to properly address - anywhere - the West goes, is...law.

It is not Syria or anywhere else that they want to go that the West do not want to talk about.

And stories abound about who did what...with claims that the Houla massacre was committed by rebels.

While it is talk about...law, that is met with silence.

Because the moral vacuum currently engulfing the world, not just Syria, is a direct result of the legal vacuum that has been created by the ongoing deliberate attempts by the US and their allies to render the International Criminal Court totally toothless.

And so while Mr Cameron lectures us that no decent leader would kill his own people, it seems to most of us that no decent leader would kill - any - people, anywhere, yet we see that Mr Cameron is cruel and indifferent to murdering Iraqis and Afghanis.

So it would be unwise to believe that Mr Cameron suddenly had the welfare of anyone at heart.

Of course what could really breathe life into the International Criminal Court is blindingly simple.

It's called ...the people.

Because there is no doubt that Governments everywhere, would really have to consider more carefully what they did, (and the media could not just spin things how they like too) if the International Criminal Court:

a) had to show it had properly considered complaints - from the people

and

b) had juries drawn from the international community of ...people.

So until I hear Madam Clinton and Mr Cameron supporting the people really being involved in the process of UPHOLDING International law, I do not believe that we will have turned a page and begun a new chapter.

In Syria ....or anywhere else.

The only freedom that is worth having is that which will only exist within real law.
